Thunder Academy T’s & C’s 

1. EVENT DETAILS

  • Event Name: Thunder Academy

  • Duration: 4 weeks

  • Location: Hastings, New Zealand

  • Format: In-person, immersive

  • Eligibility: Participants must be 18 years or older or Parent consent if under the age of 18.

  • The Host reserves the right to refuse or revoke participation at its discretion if Terms are breached.

2. REGISTRATION & PAYMENT

  • Registration is confirmed only upon:

    • Successful documentation approved

    • $500.00 deposit or paid in full.

  • Academy cost is $3350.00 + Accomodation

  • Prices are listed in USD and include taxes May exclude bank fees, or currency conversion costs.

3. REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Deposits are non-refundable.

  • Cancellation up to 3 months before Academy a 50% refund will be given of total amount.

  • Cancellation within 3 months of the event no refund will be given.

  • If the Host cancels the Event, a refund or credit may be issued at the Host’s discretion, excluding travel or accommodation costs.

  • If the participant withdraws due to illness, injury, family matters, or travel disruption, refund will be considered at the Hosts discretion. 

4. TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION

  • Participants are fully responsible for:

    • International and domestic travel

    • Visas, passports, and immigration compliance

    • Travel insurance (mandatory)

  • You must arrive and leave on the same passport for visa purposes.

  • Accommodation can be arranged independently or through Thunder Academy should beds be available.

  • The Host is not responsible for delays, cancellations, or border restrictions.

5. HEALTH DISCLOSURE (MANDATORY)

Participants must disclose, prior to arrival, any condition that could affect:

  • Their safety

  • The safety of others

  • Their ability to participate fully

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Mental health conditions (e.g. psychosis, bipolar disorder, severe anxiety, PTSD)

  • Neurological conditions

  • Cardiovascular issues

  • Physical injuries or limitations

  • Infectious or communicable diseases

  • Medication use that may impair judgment or behaviour

Failure to disclose relevant health information may result in immediate removal without refund.

6. MEDICAL & MENTAL HEALTH RESPONSIBILITY

  • The Event is not a medical, psychological, or therapeutic program.

  • No medical or mental health services are provided on-site.

  • Participants are responsible for:

    • Managing their own health

    • Bringing required medications

    • Seeking medical or psychological care if needed

The Host may, at its sole discretion:

  • Request medical clearance

  • Remove a participant if they pose a risk to themselves or others

  • Contact emergency services if safety is at risk

7. HEALTH & SAFETY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

By attending, you acknowledge:

  • Participation involves physical, emotional, psychological, and environmental risks

  • You voluntarily assume all risks associated with travel, accommodation, group activities, and event participation

You agree to:

  • Follow all safety instructions

  • Act responsibly and respectfully

  • Comply with local laws and venue rules

8. LIABILITY WAIVER & RELEASE

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you:

  • Release and hold harmless the Host, staff, contractors, volunteers, speakers, and partners from any liability, including:

    • Injury

    • Illness

    • Psychological distress

    • Loss or damage to personal property

    • Death

This applies whether arising from negligence or otherwise, during or related to the Event.

9. INSURANCE REQUIREMENT

All international participants must hold comprehensive travel insurance, including:

  • Medical and emergency care

  • Mental health coverage

  • Emergency evacuation

  • Repatriation

10. CONDUCT & BEHAVIOUR

Participants must:

  • Treat others with respect

  • Refrain from harassment, violence, substance abuse, or disruptive behaviour

  • Follow Host guidelines and leadership direction

The Host reserves the right to remove any participant for inappropriate or unsafe behaviour without refund.

11. ALCOHOL, DRUGS & SUBSTANCES

  • Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited.

  • Alcohol use must comply with local laws and Host guidelines.

  • Any substance use that endangers safety will result in removal.

12. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

  • All Event content remains the intellectual property of the Host.

  • Recording, reproduction, or distribution without written permission is prohibited.

13. PHOTOGRAPHY & MEDIA

  • The Event will be photographed and recorded.

  • By attending, you grant permission for your image or likeness to be used for promotional purposes unless you opt out in writing prior to the Event.

14. FORCE MAJEURE

The Host is not liable for failure or delay due to events beyond reasonable control, including:

  • Natural disasters

  • Pandemics

  • Government restrictions

  • Travel bans

15. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand Government.

16. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT & ACCEPTANCE

By registering and attending, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understood these Terms

  • You accept full responsibility for your participation

  • You agree to comply fully with all conditions herein
